Not About You
“Not About You” starts off as a nostalgic love song about missing someone from a past relationship, accompanied by sweet vocals and a soft instrumental. However, this track is not your typical love song. The hook brings a sudden plot twist with the contrasting heavy bass and drum beat in addition to the cheeky lyrics vocalizing a goodbye message.
“The song wrote itself,” JUNNY stated, “My producer no2zcat and I started chatting about some past events, experiences, and relationships. Once we got to talking about falling in love for the first time, and the emotions felt then and now, the story came naturally.”
During the exclusive listening party with Unbound Entertainment, JUNNY revealed that he had originally written this song in English and intended to release it in English. “I usually write my songs in English,” JUNNY said, adding that it is more comfortable for him and that it hits closer to his heart when he sings in English.
When creating a new track, JUNNY unveiled that one of the most important factors is the song’s relatability. “It has to relate to whoever is listening, my fans, my listeners, my new audiences as well.” While he does consider his own thoughts and feelings in creating what he wants, he greatly considers his fans as well. “Being privileged to have amazing fans that listen to my music and anticipate every release that I put out, I feel like it’s my job to really fulfill their needs and make them happy.”

All About JUNNY
JUNNY is a Korean-Canadian singer-songwriter who has made a name for himself in the K-pop industry. He has established himself as a successful producer and composer through his involvement in tracks for some of K-pop’s biggest names, such as EXO Kai’s “Mmmh”, NCT Dream’s “Hot Sauce”, and EXO Baekhyun’s “Privacy” to name a few. He made his official debut as an artist in 2017 with his EP “Monochrome” and has created many of his own hits like “Thank you” and “By My Side” (each with over 24 million streams on Spotify) along with his 2021 collaboration with GOT7’s Jay B, “Nostalgia”. On August 12, 2022, JUNNY released his long-awaited first studio album blanc, showing his versatility as an artist.
With being in the industry for over five years, JUNNY has gone through lots of ups and downs. “Burnout is something we all go through as artists, it’s a part of the job. Having to write for yourself and others is double the burnout,” JUNNY mentioned. When asked about how he overcame creative burnout, he revealed, “The best thing I did was take my mind off the job itself. I took off a lot of time and just focused on my life and my friends and just took my mind off everything related to music…When I came back to it, I realized how much I missed it and how happy I was being able to create music.” JUNNY disclosed that burnout is something he is still dealing with, but going on tour and being able to talk his fans has inspired him to write and motivated him to continue creating.
