Artist Rec Friday: Eraste
We’re back with another Artist Rec Friday! Hope you all had a great week! I don’t know if it’s because it’s summer now, but the weeks are moving faster and faster. Which is great for us at Jaded, because now we get to bring you a new artist to listen to all weekend long!
Today’s artist is very special to Jaded Productions, as she has just joined our roster! Eraste is a Texas singer-songwriter who has been in the music scene for a couple of years now. She is 20 years old (21 on Sunday, go show her some birthday love), and she is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community! We’ve been getting to know Eraste for the past couple of weeks, and she is nothing short of amazing.
Eraste has two pop EPs out currently. One consists of variations of my favorite song, “Break My Own Heart”. The other just came out in March of 2021, and it’s called “Crashing Every Party”. This EP features “Jealous”, a relatable song with a catchy beat, and a similar sound comes through “Right Back Where You Want Me”, which brings a futuristic pop sound that could definitely be a summer bop (take the hint ;) This EP also contains “wtgtdwm?” which stands for “What’s That Got To Do With Me?” and features Clover the Girl! This song has been stuck in my head for at least two weeks straight, and I’m not even mad about it. Of course, we need to mention “Crashing Every Party” the song, because not only is it the title of the EP, it feels very “main character”. That is the gen z way of saying that you feel like you’re the main character of a movie. With that being said, I will be midnight driving to this song for the entire summer. “Forbidden Love” is the final track on the EP, and the best way that I can describe it is that it feels like a song that would be playing when you’re walking into a concert venue. There’s an unforgettable chorus that will have you playing it in your head over and over again (and not in a bad way).
We’re so thrilled that Eraste has joined us here at Jaded Productions, and I’m even more excited to see what she has for us next. Also, it’s her birthday on Sunday, June 13th, so participate as one of our “Birthday Streamers” and help us get her song “Break My Own Heart” to 10,000 streams as her birthday present!
Welcome to the team, Eraste!
New Music Monday: Hayley Kiyoko
For the entire month of June, Jaded Productions has been featuring only LGBTQIA+ artists for our New Music Monday and Artist Rec Friday posts. And this week, we’re bringing you Hayley Kiyoko and discussing her new song “Chance, as well as her legacy as an LGBTQIA+ artist!
If you were a Disney Channel fan in 2011, then you definitely know who Hayley Kiyoko is. She played “Stella” in the original movie, Lemonade Mouth! Before Lemonade Mouth, she was in a pop group called “The Stunners”. Now, Kiyoko releases songs that tell her stories and has had massive success with almost all of them!
Hayley is also a major supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, as she is also part of that community. Her music videos call attention to the violence and hatred facing the members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and also highlight her own experiences. She has done specific campaigns like “One Bad Night” which raises awareness of the violence against transgender women, “Celebrate” which donated profits of underwear sold to the Los Angeles LGBT Center. She had also dedicated her “2018 Push Artist of the Year” award to queer women of color, and has marched at multiple Pride parades.
Her new song “Chance” is so honest and encourages fans to take a chance on whatever they want in life. We love that message, and the song is so catchy that we’ve already added it to a bunch of playlists! We’re so excited to see what Hayley does next! Also, Girls Like Girls is very close to 100 million Spotify streams, so go stream it right now!
Pride Month
I wanted to take a moment and say Happy Pride Month! No matter what, we at Jaded support you and you’re valid in your feelings and in your life. Love is Love and Love Always Wins. We strive to make Jaded Productions a safe environment to be yourself, and we’re always here if you need us. 💚
