Honest, Chaotic, and Loud. UK’s exciting alt-pop act Dylan dishes on her newest mixtape The Greatest Thing I’ll Never Learn

“Nothing Lasts Forever?” I have a hunch that Dylan and her music will last a very long time. The timeless rock influence laced into the pop melodies combined with an amazingly humble personality is the recipe for a successful musician.
Dylan is an Island Records UK / Republic Records artist who I had the privilege to hear speak at her recent press conference with °1824. She has a new mixtape out as of October 28th called The Greatest Thing I’ll Never Learn.
If you’re a fan of Harry Styles, you may recognize Dylan from her hit “You’re Not Harry Styles”, which blew up when it came out in November of last year. She was also recently on tour with Ed Sheeran, and will be again in February 2023. (See if she’s coming to a city near you! https://www.iamdylanofficial.com/)
From top to bottom, this mixtape is extremely impressive. Dylan is a self-proclaimed “rockstar stuck in a pop star’s body”, and I can’t think of a better way to describe this mixtape. It’s the perfect mix of pop songs and rock songs, and more often than not, blurring the lines between pop and rock. If you’re looking for a fresh pop-rock sound that will get you out of your seat and dancing to one song (I recommend “Girl Of Your Dreams” or “Nothing Lasts Forever” for that), and then pondering life in the next one (something like “Blisters”), this is the mixtape for you!
Inside and out of this mixtape, Dylan’s songs feel very much like you’re the main character in a movie. So much so that I’ve actually put a lot of them on my “songs to make you feel like the main character” playlist. So once you’re done listening to The Greatest Thing I’ll Never Learn, I highly recommend checking out other songs by Dylan, like “No Romeo” and “Someone Else”!
So put it at the top of your To-Do list to listen to this spectacular mixtape! I promise, it’ll be the best 8 song, 24 minute experience ever!

“Nothing Lasts Forever” - HARRY FANS! This one feels the most like “You’re Not Harry Styles''. The lyrics are sharp and to the point, and it’s such a fun beat. Roll down the windows and turn this one up!
“Blisters” - Dylan is a rock n roll goddess in this one. It has perfectly timed drops and serves drama at every corner.
“Girl Of Your Dreams” - The beat of this song is giving “it’s Friday, perfectly 75° and sunny outside, and I just got an A in a class”. It’s such main character energy, and instantly makes me want to dance.
